About Røyst mat & vin
Røyst opened on 20 September 2023 on the ground floor of Nynorskhuset. Behind it is restaurateur Ole Jonny Eikefjord — it is the eighth restaurant he has helped start, but the first in his home town.
The first three months of trading ended with a deficit of over 900,000 kroner. The unusual part is that management said so out loud: when Firda covered the figures in August 2024, they called it expected start-up cost. By March 2026 Eikefjord himself was back in the kitchen in Førde.
The menu follows the seasons, and every dish carries a numeric allergen code. Dinner is served from 16:00; before that it is small plates. Sample prices from their own page: steamed klippfisk 395 kroner, beef entrecôte 395, pasta with confit chicken 295, beef burger 295.
