About Godt Bresert
The name is the concept. To braise is to brown meat and then cook it slowly in its own stock, and it runs through the whole menu: braised lamb shank, braised beef cheek, braised oxtail in rösti. The head chef came from Elvesus further down by the river.
Godt Bresert opened on 7 January 2026 in the premises Lorenzos had vacated the previous autumn. Local paper Firda reported at the time that the lease was agreed quickly after Lorenzos folded in September. In May 2026 it became the very first recipient of «Ung Gründer», a new fund from Konsumgruppen for young founders in the trade, earmarked for kitchen and ventilation work.
Through the summer of 2026 the kitchen stood temporarily in the middle of the room during a rebuild. Opening hours are therefore shorter than earlier in the year: Wednesday to Saturday from 15:00, with the kitchen closing at 21:30. The menu is published with prices — starters from 75 kroner (taco) to 375 (whole beef tartare), mains 265–385 kroner.
