About Aba's Inn
Aba's Inn has been run by the same family for over forty years. Andreas and Bjørg Vilnes started the street kitchen in December 1983. The business register tells the rest quietly: the registration changed name to «Abas Inn Andreas Vilnes DØDSBU» — estate of the deceased — in July 2017, and then to Bjørg Vilnes a few weeks later. She has run the place ever since.
In the autumn of 2023 the venue had a small media drama. Firda published a critical burger review, and the town answered with its feet: around eighty people bought a burger from Bjørg within half an hour. The same paper later that year reported that Aba's Inn won a local vote for the best burger in town.
The menu is not published anywhere. What we know of it comes from the shopping centre's own description: burger meals, pizza, chicken meals and fish and chips, soft ice and slush all year round, and raspeballar every Thursday.
